—–– Light to the Nations —––

The people Israel, the seed of Abraham, were to be a light to the nations.  Because they messed up, the atonement and Passover lamb Jesus took their place in obedience and death so that they could fulfil that original purpose.  He became and was light in that substitutionary and sacrificial role:

5 This is what the [true] God, Jehovah, has said, the Creator of the heavens and the Grand One stretching them out; the One laying out the earth and its produce, the One giving breath to the people on it, and spirit to those walking in it: 6 “I myself, Jehovah, have called you in righteousness, and I proceeded to take hold of your hand. And I shall safeguard you and give you as a covenant of the people, as a light of the nations, 7 [for you] to open the blind eyes, to bring forth out of the dungeon the prisoner, out of the house of detention those sitting in darkness.
(Isaiah 42:5-7)

to and about whom did Jehovah here speak?

Listen to me, O you islands, and pay attention, you national groups far away. Jehovah himself has called me even from the belly. From the inward parts of my mother he has made mention of my name. 2 And he proceeded to make my mouth like a sharp sword. In the shadow of his hand he has hidden me. And he gradually made me a polished arrow. He concealed me in his own quiver. 3 And he went on to say to me: “you are my servant, O Israel, you the one in whom I shall show my beauty.”  (Isaiah 49:1-6)

4 But as for me, I said: “It is for nothing that I have toiled. For unreality and vanity I have used up my own power. Truly my judgment is with Jehovah, and my wages with my God.” 5 And now Jehovah, the One forming me from the belly as a servant belonging to him, has said [for me] to bring back Jacob to him, in order that to him Israel itself may be gathered. And I shall be glorified in the eyes of Jehovah, and my own God will have become my strength. 6 And he proceeded to say: “It has been more than a trivial matter for you to become my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to bring back even the safeguarded ones of Israel; I also have given you for a light of the nations, that my salvation may come to be to the extremity of the earth.”

Jesus' disciples were the first of a remnant of Israelites/Jews to continue to run with that promise to become a light to the nations.

14 “you are the light of the world. A city cannot be hid when situated upon a mountain. (Matthew 5:14)

. . .for the sons of this system of things are wiser in a practical way toward their own generation than the sons of the light are. (Luke 16:8)

. . .Who is this Son of man?” 35 Jesus therefore said to them: “The light will be among you a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, so that darkness does not overpower you; and he that walks in the darkness does not know where he is going. 36 While you have the light, exercise faith in the light, in order to become sons of light.”. . .(John 12:34-36)

Addressing Jews and others at Antioch Paul drew attention to the fact that the anointed congregation of the Israel of God were now the light to the nations:

45 When the Jews got sight of the crowds, they were filled with jealousy and began blasphemously contradicting the things being spoken by Paul.   46 And so, talking with boldness, Paul and Bar´na·bas said: “It was necessary for the word of God to be spoken first to you. Since you are thrusting it away from you and do not judge yourselves worthy of everlasting life, look! we turn to the nations. 47 In fact, Jehovah has laid commandment upon us in these words, ‘I have appointed you as a light of nations, for you to be a salvation to the extremity of the earth.’. .48 When those of the nations heard this, they began to rejoice and to glorify the word of Jehovah, and all those who were rightly disposed for everlasting life became believers.. . .. (Acts 13:45-48)

8 for you were once darkness, but you are now light in connection with [the] Lord. Go on walking as children of light, (Ephesians 5:8)

12 thanking the Father who rendered you suitable for your participation in the inheritance of the holy ones in the light. (Colossians 1:12)

4 But you, brothers, you are not in darkness, so that that day should overtake you as it would thieves, 5 for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We belong neither to night nor to darkness.. . .(1 Thessalonians 5:4-5)

9 He saved us and called us with a holy calling, not by reason of our works, but by reason of his own purpose and undeserved kindness. This was given us in connection with Christ Jesus before times long lasting, 10 but now it has been made clearly evident through the manifestation of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has abolished death but has shed light upon life and incorruption through the good news, 11 for which I was appointed a preacher and apostle and teacher. (2 Timothy 1:9-11)

9 But you are “a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for special possession, that you should declare abroad the excellencies” of the one that called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 10 For you were once not a people, but are now God’s people; you were those who had not been shown mercy, but are now those who have been shown mercy.. . .
1 Peter 2:9-10)

Ultimately it will be the Kingdom of the Heavens of a 1000 years: A virtual Israel of 144000 Kings and Priests who are the light of a new dawn for mankind.

Not only have those of the little flock of Israel now entered into God's rest as they rest from their own works of justification through works of the law, but are now and during the final 1000 years of God's earth-related rest day, instrumental in completing God's purpose for the earth.
–Hebrews 4:1-13.

On the basis of Jehovah God's perfect sense of justice, all humans will be given the same start and opportunity as Adam.  Exercising their own ability to make choices, they will be free to make their decision about their own future without any alleged burden of inheritance.

They will need to listen carefully to the options that will be presented to them when the Kingdom of the Heavens commences its rule.  They need to think carefully about the choices and the impact their decision will have upon them and their future.

The choice is as much theirs, as will be the consequences.

Just little a P.S. here from a slightly different perspective:

Acts 13:

45  But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy; and contradicting and blaspheming, they opposed the things spoken by Paul.  46  Then Paul and Barnabas grew bold and said, "It was necessary that the word of God should be spoken to you first; but since you reject it, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles.  47  "For so the Lord has commanded us*: ‘I have set you as a light to the Gentiles, That you should be for salvation to the ends of the earth.’"

* The us here are the group or congregation of disciples drawn from the forgiven servant Israel.

AV-KJV Cross-references from the above verse 47 point to a section of scripture that was clearly from the LORD Jehovah and not from the Lord Jesus, an entirely different individual.

One was simply Lord on the basis of his descent in the royal line of David, while the other designation is a lying Trinitarian subterfuge to meld the two into one godhead:

Intuitively and clearly based on rightly understood doctrine AV-KJV Cross-references from
 Isa 42:1:

Isa 42:1   Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect*, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.  *or chosen ones

Another slightly different perspective:

Isa 43:10  Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.

Isa 49:3  And said unto me, Thou art my servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified.

Isa 49:4  Then I said, I have laboured in vain, I have spent my strength for nought, and in vain: yet surely my judgment is with the LORD, and my work with my God.

Isa 49:5  And now, saith the LORD that formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob again to him, Though Israel be not gathered, yet shall I be glorious in the eyes of the LORD, and my God shall be my strength.

Isa 49:6  And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.

Isa 52:13   Behold, my servant shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high.

Isa 53:11  He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

The complete chapters of the following extracted verses ought to be read for comprehension:

Isa 42:6  I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;

Isa 49:6  And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.

Isa 60:3  And the Gentiles shall come to thy light*, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.

* not to Jesus' light, but to the light of the servant Israel!  Jesus simply substituted totally, completely and absolutely.
